The Ultimate Edgy Rocker-Chic Eye
By By Terry of course.
My husband is not a new year’s eve kind of guy – this has made me become not much of a NYE gal by default. So, I was super excited when he gave in this year and said we could book a suite at a fabulous hotel in my home town and ring in the new year with a massage, fancy dinner, & a party at my brother’s house. I immediately started thinking about what I’d wear (Rag & Bone dress, black tights, sequin blazer, Joie booties) then immediately thought about what I could do to make my face look fresh & special. Perfect that Private Edition just happened to be having a By Terry event this past weekend! Ahhh… A sign! I saw Carmen and requested a “dark, edgy, rocker look”…
We started with BT’s super luxurious Ombre Veloutee powder shadow in Pearly Rye.
This shadow is satin-like and smooths on gorgeously. It has a hint of shimmer and looks luminescent and reflects/catches light beautifully. It’s a neutral and the prettiest base ever. (Ok, you also need an eye primer – another post)
We followed this by lining the eye with BT’s Crayon Khol Terrybly in Brown Stellar & Black Print. These pencils are so AMAZING. They are water proof, long wearing, and create a super precise line easily even for those of us who aren’t blessed with steady hands. They have a hint of shimmer too. I use a smudge brush (Sonia Kashuk – another post) to rough up the line a little bit.
Next, top powder shadow with BT’s Ombre Blackstar cream eye shadow stick in black pearl. This creamy stick smooths and primes your lid and creates a “lifting light” effect. It is a glistening charcoal black color that gives eyes that kind of wet runway ready look (minus the Vaseline). This cream is smudge-free, won’t crease or migrate and wears beautifully.
Finish with Mascara Terrybly in black Parti-Pris– this is a mascara and lash serum in one! My eyelashes actually looked like they had grown for the first time since I started my lash treatment after we applied a few coats of this mascara. Lashes feel soft and hydrated and the formula doesn’t clump at all. The wand is nice and chubby and it separates, elongates and boosts the volume of every single lash. What I love most… it’s actually working for you while you wear it.
This was a shot of me and my fabulous friend Daphne at dinner after my makeover. I threw in another close-up of my closed eyes so you could see the full effect (self taken pic obv). My lashes look long though, right?? (To bad my nose looks long too) Ha.
Go see Carmen at Private Edition for your personalized holiday look!! Since this post is enormous and my wallet (hubby’s wallet) took a serious beating to finance this look my posts will be limited this week (as in this might be the only one). Smile. This will be my go-to night time look for MANY months and definitely will get me through all the parties/events we have for the rest of the season.
