Bumble & Bumble Dryspun Finish Thickening Spray

I’m wanting to love this spray as a dry shampoo but I’m just not quite there yet.  I am one of those people who washes their hair only once, maybe twice a week but, lately I’m noticing a little more oil buildup than usual.  Age?  Hormones?  Who knows?  In any event, I’ve been looking for a simple fix to eliminate the grease, re-fresh, and add a tiny bit of volume.  My hair isn’t fine and it isn’t limp but it’s so heavy that it can fall very, very flat.  

I tried Oribe’s Maximista and while smelling heavenly, it did nothing for me.  I was hoping to add piecey texture, think 90s Seattle grunge music scene.  This did not occur.

The Bumble smells delicious too & is totally translucent and I think if I can master exactly how far to spray it from my head, I might love it…

Pure Bliss

Bliss Vanilla + Bergamot Body Butter

As a Mama to a 10 month old I’ve come cherish the teeny tiny amount of “me” time I get at the end of each day.  Mind you, for me the real “bliss” is the time that I get with my little man every day.  I’m actually surrounded by men in my household and when they’ve all been hugged and fed and settled for the night & the kitchen is cleaned and my endless daily chores are done (for the moment), I light a candle in my bedroom, enjoy my shower, and go through my little nightly routine alone in the peace and quiet.  

I used to be religious about applying body lotion before bed and in the last year or so I’ve gotten out of the habit and I can really and truly see a difference in my skin.  So, I bought myself a new body lotion that lives in the drawer on my nightstand… when I get in bed to read or watch tv, (or admittedly just stare into space) I coat my arms, legs, stomach, etc. with this yummy lotion from Bliss.  It smells unbelievably lovely in a perfectly subtle way (though vanilla and bergamot is the scent – it reminds me of the beach) and it leaves my skin soft and smooth. There is a hint of amber and musk in the scent which is especially nice this time of year! Bliss’ butters are paraben free and improve the texture of your skin with repeated use.  As Bliss claims, this butter puts the thrilla back in vanilla.

Dior Overcurl Mascara

My new favorite mascara.  This guy never clumps and the curl of the chubby, thick & heavily bristled wand makes it really easy to get every single lash.  My lashes are long but they stick straight out – thus, they don’t really look long as there is no fringe framing my eye.  This mascara actually makes them look kind of curly (no small feat) – at least for a good while.  I used this mascara for a week before doing my post just to make sure it was as great as it seemed and alas, Dior continues to not ever disappoint in the mascara department.  It leaves your lashes feeling soft and dramatically enhanced.  Another added plus, the formula contains keratin and lipids that actually improve your lash condition with time and more wear.
