Mad for Plaid, Etc.

I can’t stop buying plaid shirts.  I cannot wait to wear them for Fall with my favorite jeans and booties.  How cute would it be to pair a plaid button down with a leather pencil skirt?  My favorite plaid shirts are from Rails.  I like wearing them open with a simple tank underneath and/or statement necklaces or, just buttoned and half tucked with a great pair of heels.  See my shameless selfie below & a couple outfit inspiration pics from Pinterest. 

 

 

I also can’t stop buying jeans – what else is new?  Jeans are truly my weakness but, a perfect pair can bring so much happiness and simplify dressing more so than any other item in my closet.

I’m totally in love with the new premium vintage collection from Citizens of Humanity.  I have never really loved a pair of boyfriend-ish jeans until this pair came into my life.  I’ll admit a dropped crotch is not for everyone and there are limits to which shoes you can wear with these guys but, when styled right, they are ultra-comfy, flattering and fun - perfection.  You must take one size down from usual -- possibly 2 depending on the look you're going for.  The bourbon wash = my favorite denim wash ever.  You can wear these as higher waist jeans (thus eliminating the drop crotch effect) and they look similar to a pair of vintage 501s, button fly and all.  Or you can wear them low and slouchy emphasizing the drop crotch and giving you a slightly androgynous look depending on what top and shoes you pair them with.

Catch Up

Touching Base…

 

A)     Bobbi Brown’s “full coverage face brush” allows me to contour at a seriously celebrity style level.  My cheekbones have NEVER looked so good. 

 

 

B)      Byredo’s Gypsy Water is AMAZE and has become my signature scent.  I am dying to try Byredo’s “Black Saffron” too.  Gypsy water is musky and mysterious but at the same time fresh, light, and clean.  How is that even possible?  Fragrance wizards, I guess.

 

 

C)      Tom Ford is churning out some bad ass, unisex, universally flattering slightly retro style sunnies that I’m dying over.  I picked the tortoise frames aka "dark Havana" and I love how I’m now seeing life through rose colored lenses – literally. 

 

 

D)     I am loving the long nail trend; I’m one of those lucky people that has pretty nails as far as shape, nail bed, color and health so I felt like I could really rock this trend.  But No-No-No, because I have a 20 month old, whom I enjoying cuddling, loving and squeezing far too much, so I’m now enjoying an oval slightly long nail in an ombre light pink sparkle style which my nail guru copied perfectly for me after I brought him an Instagram photo.

Two To Tatcha

I’m constantly reaching into my handbag for Tatcha’s gold / camellia lip balm & Tatcha’s indigo soothing silk hand cream.  The lip balm is unbelievably moisturizing and glides on silky smooth.  Long after the balm has worn off lips still feel nourished and soft.  Let’s also touch on the fact that is likely the most gorgeous lip balm out there – complete with 24k gold leaf and all.

I’m always looking for the next best hand cream and this one is definitely my new fav.  It is super soothing and has such a lovely fresh smell.  My hands almost always feel red and parched due to allergies… this cream causes redness and irritation to vanish upon contact.  My hands look 10 years younger after a healthy size application. 

I first fell in love with Tatcha many moons ago when I discovered their blotting papers during New York fashion week and I am continually in awe of the killer products this fabulous Japanese brand churns out.  I cannot tell you how happy I am when one of Tatcha’s beautiful purple boxes arrives in the mail. 

This is a brand to keep an eye on, my friends!!
