Somerville Series (2)

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream

This is a heavy cream that acts like a light one due to a fast absorption rate and the fact that it will never clog pores (I’ll stand behind that statement).  It’s perfect for everyday use – it contains Lactic Acid which preserves the skin’s PH and gently exfoliates, I’m a big fan of Lactic facials so this seemed like an ideal supplement for me and my sensitive skin.  Your skin really does feel instantly soothed and refreshed.  I’ve been layering it over my wrinkle serum and loving it!

Somerville Series (1)

I’m trying to get my skin in the best possible shape before baby  by sticking to a super diligent routine and I have been doing so with multiple Kate Somerville products and treatments which I’m going to review for you before my maternity leave starts.  First up:

Kate Somerville CytoCell P299 Anti Wrinkle Serum

This serum is amazing and while I’ve only been using it about a week I can already see a significant difference in the overall tone and texture of my skin.  The serum is oil-free and meant to be applied morning and evening.  The science behind the serum is stem cell technology combined with active ingredients like hyaluronic acid and marine algae – making this guy a total brainer, right??  It restores hydration, minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and refines skin’s texture and luminosity.  Clinical studies back the killer results and I assure you, this formula doesn’t disappoint.  It is soothing, layers nicely under your daily moisturizer, and, like all Kate’s products, it’s super reasonably priced.

P.S. If you’re in Nashville, see my friend, Rheonna, at the Kate counter in Nordstrom!

Mercier Compact

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Compact

I was hesitant to try this compact, despite being a long time fan of Mercier’s tinted liquid moisturizer due to mixed reviews in the beauty world… but, after a super picky BFF gave it her seal of approval (I can’t remember the last foundation she liked??) I had to check it out for myself.  I’m hooked, especially for my morning pre-office routine.  It is creamy and easy to apply (goes on like velvet) and seems to have a more substantial/moderate coverage than the original form. Moreover, it’s SPF 20.  The smooth, dewy formula immediately neutralized the redness in my skin and covered my fine lines without looking heavy, caked, or settling into cracks, rough spots, etc.  This is a MAJOR winner in my book.  The compact is a great size, is conveniently packaged and comes with a super luxurious little sponge.  I’m using it in “bisque.”
