13 Going On 30 (32)???

Butter Polish in Rosie Lee

I borrowed this polish from a friend (well, her daughter to be exact – thx Emma!) because I wanted something fun for NYE.  I was going to try Butter’s black sparkle polish but when I saw this, I couldn’t resist, the pink was just too cute.  I’ve posted about Butter before – awesome brand.  Butter is non-toxic with no harmful ingredients & it wears incredibly well.

Now… I give you my NYE manicure/pedicure (& a link to buy the polish online). So, I'll be pretty in pink when I ring in 2012.

By Terry Moisturizer

By Terry Gelee De Rose Intensive Multi-Active Moisturizer

Another incredible product from By Terry… this moisturizer hydrates, enhances, and detoxifies your complexion leaving your skin supple, healthy, and glowing.  I’m using a sample from a friend (thx Gin) and will definitely be buying this guy when I’m out of my current day cream(s).  The texture is light and feels like a gel but the effect is intensive hydration without being the least bit greasy or tightening (an effect some gel formulas have).  Combining this with By T’s complexion enhancer (see my 11/30/11 post) creates about as fabulous a complexion as I’m ever going to get.  I feel like for under $100 this is actually a steal.

By Terry Eye Primer

By Terry Hyaluronic Eye Primer

A tinted primer for the eyelids – the problem with eye primers is I often find them so drying – which is odd, given the eye area is so delicate.  Not the case with this fabulous concoction that reminds me of whipped mouse.  It’s so soft and light and blends seamlessly and weightlessly onto your lid – camouflaging lines and imperfections and firmly securing your shadow and liner in place.  Of course we all know hyaluronic acid plumps and smooths.  It’s like an eye-lift in a tube, minus the surgeon, scalpel and anesthesia.  A LOT less expensive than the alternative too.  Plus, I’ll vouch for this formula.  Your shadow will not crease, budge or crackle.

Terry, if you’re out there – can you please hire me because I’m BY FAR your biggest brand advocate??!!!

Quarter for your thoughts??

French Quarter for your Thoughts by OPI

Another fun  and seasonless color from OPI.  I love gray on nails but was a little tired of my standard Essie & OPI gray colors I’d been wearing for a couple years now.  This one feels fresh, neutral and new.  I snapped a couple pics of the color on my nails last weekend.  Props to my friend Kyah of Sleeveless for creating a gorgeous pyrite bracelet also seen on my arm in the pic.  A killer layering piece and the perfect last minute gift and a great way to support an incredible local company.  Check out her fabulous website below:

& here is a link to the polish on Amazon.  Since gray is a neutral this color can carry you all the way through spring.

 * The other bracelet is Giles & Bro, and the third with emerald and onyx, a custom creation.  Both gifts from two of my very dearest friends.  The watch is vintage Cartier -- priceless -- both in sentiment and cost (from my dear stepfather Buzzy)

Omorovicza Daily Moisturizer

Omorovicza Balancing Moisturizer

LOVE, LOVE,  LOVE.  Why are you so $$, Omorovicza??  Unfortunately, I just cannot spring for this after my By Terry extravaganza this season but, it’s definitely on my radar for the near future.  This formula is ultra soothing and calms and balances stressed/irritated skin.  After using several samples, I’d vote for this product over La Mer any day.  This cream regulates sebum production, clears dead skin cells & helps decrease the size and appearance of pores.  It’s pretty fab all around and well worth the $ plus it comes in a nice size bottle.  Perfect for combination & oily skin.

If you’re not familiar with Omorovicza, I’m predicting you will be soon.  I see MAJOR press on the horizon for this killer brand from Budapest.

And just for added effect!!

YES!  I'm so renting this tonight.

True Romance

By Terry Laque De Rose Gloss in “Romance Rose”

I just had to throw that tag line in from one of my all time favorite movies EVER.

These glosses are incredible -- I've mentioned them before.  They are ultra hydrating, have SPF 15, and leave lips glossy and gorgeous.  I’m wanting every shade.  This particular shade I think would be universally flattering on all blondes.  It’s fairly sheer and it softens, repairs, and comforts your lips with wear.  Plus, the formula is totally non-sticky!!!  It’s smells rosey and is packed with antioxidants.  No cracked, dry, winter lips with these glosses.  If you’re not a big lipstick/lip gloss person as far as deep color, high shine, etc.  this is ideal for you.  Seriously, it is perfect and gorgeous and natural and just all around yummy.  It looks lilac in the tube but once it hits your lips... perfection!!

Happy Friday!  I need a martini the size of my bathtub after this week.

Holiday Look

The Ultimate Edgy Rocker-Chic Eye

By By Terry of course.

My husband is not a new year’s eve kind of guy – this has made me become not much of a NYE gal by default.  So, I was super excited when he gave in this year and said we could book a suite at a fabulous hotel in my home town and ring in the new year with a massage, fancy dinner, & a party at my brother’s house.  I immediately started thinking about what I’d wear (Rag & Bone dress, black tights, sequin blazer, Joie booties) then immediately thought about what I could do to make my face look fresh & special.  Perfect that Private Edition just happened to be having a By Terry event this past weekend! Ahhh… A sign!  I saw Carmen and requested a “dark, edgy, rocker look”…

We started with BT’s super luxurious Ombre Veloutee powder shadow in Pearly Rye.

This shadow is satin-like and smooths on gorgeously.  It has a hint of shimmer and looks luminescent and reflects/catches light beautifully. It’s a neutral and the prettiest base ever.  (Ok, you also need an eye primer – another post)

We followed this by lining the eye with BT’s Crayon Khol Terrybly in Brown Stellar & Black Print.  These pencils are so AMAZING. They are water proof, long wearing, and create a super precise line easily even for those of us who aren’t blessed with steady hands.  They have a hint of shimmer too.  I use a smudge brush (Sonia Kashuk – another post) to rough up the line a little bit.

Next, top powder shadow with BT’s Ombre Blackstar cream eye shadow stick in black pearl.  This creamy stick smooths and primes your lid and creates a “lifting light” effect.  It is a glistening charcoal black color that gives eyes that kind of wet runway ready look (minus the Vaseline).  This cream is smudge-free, won’t crease or migrate and wears beautifully.

Finish with Mascara Terrybly in black Parti-Pris– this is a mascara and lash serum in one!  My eyelashes actually looked like they had grown for the first time since I started my lash treatment after we applied a few coats of this mascara.  Lashes feel soft and hydrated and the formula doesn’t clump at all.  The wand is nice and chubby and it separates, elongates and boosts the volume of every single lash.  What I love most… it’s actually working for you while you wear it.

This was a shot of me and my fabulous friend Daphne at dinner after my makeover.  I threw in another close-up of my closed eyes so you could see the full effect (self taken pic obv). My lashes look long though, right?? (To bad my nose looks long too) Ha.

Go see Carmen at Private Edition for your personalized holiday look!! Since this post is enormous and my wallet (hubby’s wallet) took a serious beating to finance this look my posts will be limited this week (as in this might be the only one).  Smile.  This will be my go-to night time look for MANY months and definitely will get me through all the parties/events we have for the rest of the season.
